Toys R Us has Dead or Alive Dimensions and Dream Trigger 3D for $29.99 this week. The deal is available online or in the store. You can see the deals online here: Dead or Alive Dimensions and Dream Trigger 3D. Other games on sale are Rayman 3D, Super Monkey Ball 3D, Lego Pirates of the Caribbean, Asphalt 3D, Ridge Racer 3D, and Rayman Raving Rabbids Travel in Time.

That’s a great deal, and it’s probably the price these games should have debuted at in my opinion.

In some bizarre news, Dead or Alive Dimensions won’t see the light of day in the Sweden, Denmark, and Norway thanks to some strict laws against child pornography. The law seems to call into the question the ability to take pictures of female characters under the age of 18 from any angle in the game. Apparently this is being called a “pornographic situation” even though the girls’ clothes remain on.

Damn, two disappointing stories in a row. I promise my next post will be more uplifting!

IGN got to sit down with Yosuke Hayashi to speak about Dead or Alive Dimensions. When speaking about why Team Ninja made the 3DS the first Nintendo console to see a DOA game, Hayashi said that it was simply the first handheld that made sense for a game in the DOA series.

We considered a handheld DOA a while ago but we never found the hardware that could do the job. When we first looked at the 3DS we were pleased at its performance and reliable network features, both of which allowed the hardware its smooth processing. We thought that this hardware could play a good host to DOA so we decided to go ahead and develop DOAD.

When speaking about Ninja Gaiden on the system, Team Ninja wasn’t letting out any secrets.

Once we are determined that Ryu should find his way to the 3DS we’ll let you guys know. Until that time, please use him in DOAD!

It would be nice to see a Ninja Gaiden on the system, especially after the fantastic Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword for the DS. Hayashi also commented that “all of us men” won’t be disappointed with the 3D effect. Oh Team Ninja…

Preorder Dead or Alive Dimensions for its May 24th release date

The first review for Dead or Alive: Dimensions is now online and it comes from VideoGamer. The review notes that the controls feel good – better than Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. Also, the website praises the game’s use of StreetPass, which sends people a ghost of yourself that they can fight based on your play style.

However, the praise stops when it comes to online. The review notes that the “framerate” is really bad in online gameplay. I’m not quite sure if it’s just the framerate or lagging caused by the game’s online. We’ll find out soon, though. The game’s story is apparently pretty terrible too.

In the end, the review compares the game to Super Street Fighter IV, and tries to answer the question “Should I get Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition or Dead or Alive: Dimesions” – a question that many have asked. It seems like Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition is the more polished game, and it’s not surprising. Capcom usually puts a lot of polish on their work. However, Dead or Alive: Dimensions is not a port of an existing game, and it is made for the handheld. Because of this, it may be better suited for handheld play. Add that to great StreetPass feature, and your already formed opinion on the series and you may have a reason to purchase it on May 24th.
