When it was announced that there would be a successor the PSP the announcement was met with skepticism from some people. While there were definitely some great games for the PSP, Sony’s entrance into the handheld gaming market was a bit shaky, and there several examples of Sony not really “getting” what made handheld games so great. Luckily for us, it seems that Sony may have learned some lessons from last generation, and the company has already announced an impressive lineup of games for their upcoming portable. I’ve taken a moment to point out the top 10 most promising titles for the system.
Excuse the use of the often overused “epic”, but it’s really the only word I can think to describe this new* hardware and software showcase trailer. Check it out, and I’m sure it will make you even more excited about Sony’s new hotness. Many games are featured in the trailer including Uncharted Golden Abyss, Super Stardust, LittleBigPlanet, Sound Shapes, and more!
*This trailer may not actually be new, but it’s the first time I’ve seen it.
One of the most unique features on Sony’s newest handheld is the rear touchpad. The control method honestly sounded completely useless to me, but there seems to be a lot of great uses in games like LittleBigPlanet and ModNation Racers. It turns out that the touchpad almost never saw the light of day when Sony was developing the Vita.
If you’re still not familiar with the PlayStation Vita, check out this video. It will introduce you to the system’s features and show you its best games.
LittleBigPlanet for the PlayStation Vita looks like one of the most impressive handheld games I’ve ever seen. Not only does it boast an impressive use of so many control methods, it gives players great options to create, share, and play! Check out the trailer to see this impressive Vita game. This game has the potential to be huge on the platform.
