Nintendo Power has reviewed Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D this month. The game received a 7.5. Here’s a summary of what Nintendo Power thinks.

  • Graphics are “pretty darn impressive” but the game suffers from frame rate problems.
  • Nice use of 3D. The reviewer had the 3D slider at max and never felt the need to lower it.
  • Makes nice use of 3DS controls.
  • Use the A button to quickly heal yourself.
  • Moving while shooting is poorly executed.
  • If you are going for the most time on each stage, constantly meleeing enemies can become “monotonous”.
  • Thankfully, the variety of enemies help to keep the player engaged.
  • Extremely strong enemies help change things up.
  • In co-op both players get a game over if only one of the players die.
  • The game can get boring, so it’s best to play it in short bursts.
  • Final score: 7.5

Shortly after announcing it, n-Space deleted the post but the damage was done. Turns out that Nintendo Power actually had the big reveal all along, on page 13 to be specific. And it gets better – Nintendo Power published details that weren’t given on the Facebook page.
