Here’s some unexpected news: a Pokemon game is coming to the App Store and Android marketplace in Japan. The app is called Pokemon le Tap, and it is a rhythm game. This may seem surprising since Apple is one of Nintendo’s biggest competitors, however, Nintendo says that the Pokemon Company is its own entity, and they are free to make their own business decisions. That doesn’t seem right to me since Nintendo owns the franchise, but I am no legal expert.
A sequel to the WiiWare game Pokemon Rumble has been announced. For now, we don’t know much about the title except that it’s called Super Pokemon Scramble. The game is set to be released in Japan on July 28th, and it will be a purchasable at retail, meaning the game is not downloadable.

With the June 6th update for the 3DS closely approaching, it’s surprising how few eShop games and apps we know about. Nintendo has clued us in on one of those apps. The company will be offering a free Pokédex for the eShop, with more than 150 Pokemon to look up information with.
We know that, along with Project Cafe, the 3DS will be a huge focus of Nintendo’s E3 press conference this year. As I have discussed before, E3 will be the place where Nintendo will have to convince gamers both hardcore and casual that the 3DS is worth its $249.99 price tag. Expect to see more details on titles that we know about, as well as titles we haven’t even heard about it yet. This article will focus on the latter. Here are some titles that haven’t been announced, but have a possibility of being announced at E3.
Luigi’s Mansion may not be a Nintendo franchise that you think would benefit from 3D, but for Nintendo it was one of the first. Back in the GameCube days, Nintendo experimented with 3D by using an additional display that you would attach to your TV to enable 3D, and Luigi’s Mansion was one of the first games they tried this with. Obviously, we have come a long way since then, and it seems that Nintendo might think the time is right to explore Luigi’s Mansion in 3D again.
In a Nintendo Power interview, Hideki Konno revealed that there was a chance that a sequel to the GameCube launch game would receive a sequel on the 3DS. And this wasn’t the only time such an idea was referenced. In an Iwata Asks, Konno brought up the project once again. Either Konno is giving some not-so-subtle hint to Iwata that he wants to work on this again, or the game is already in the works. It wouldn’t be the first time that Nintendo has sneakily hinted at projects that would later become games. Honestly, I feel like this one is pretty likely to manifest into an announcement at E3. We’ll see.
