Nintendo Power has reviewed Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D this month. The game received a 7.5. Here’s a summary of what Nintendo Power thinks.

  • Graphics are “pretty darn impressive” but the game suffers from frame rate problems.
  • Nice use of 3D. The reviewer had the 3D slider at max and never felt the need to lower it.
  • Makes nice use of 3DS controls.
  • Use the A button to quickly heal yourself.
  • Moving while shooting is poorly executed.
  • If you are going for the most time on each stage, constantly meleeing enemies can become “monotonous”.
  • Thankfully, the variety of enemies help to keep the player engaged.
  • Extremely strong enemies help change things up.
  • In co-op both players get a game over if only one of the players die.
  • The game can get boring, so it’s best to play it in short bursts.
  • Final score: 7.5

I’m going to pick this up once it goes down in a price a bit. I love the mercenaries modes, but with such a lack of new content I can’t justify paying $40.

This commercial for Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is only 15 seconds, and it seems really fast-paced. Zombies are being kicked, stabbed, shot at, and generally just punished for the their homicidal ways. I haven’t seen the commercial on TV yet (although I don’t watch a lot of TV), but I’m sure we’ll see this on all the usual channels soon.

Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is just a month away! Capcom has supplied us with a new trailer while we wait. Preorder the game from Amazon today and get free release date delivery if you’re a Prime member.

We’ve certainly had an abundance of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D, but Capcom doesn’t think that’s enough! The company has supplied us with seven more screenshots. This time the screenshots show off the skill system in the game. You can upgrade your skills to take down even more zombies and beat harder levels.

New commercials were also put up on the official website. The commercials show off gameplay including co-op. You can see the commercials here and here.

Be sure to preorder your copy of Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D for its release on June 28.
