Nintendo Power has reviewed Capcom’s Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D this month. The game received a 7.5. Here’s a summary of what Nintendo Power thinks.
- Graphics are “pretty darn impressive” but the game suffers from frame rate problems.
- Nice use of 3D. The reviewer had the 3D slider at max and never felt the need to lower it.
- Makes nice use of 3DS controls.
- Use the A button to quickly heal yourself.
- Moving while shooting is poorly executed.
- If you are going for the most time on each stage, constantly meleeing enemies can become “monotonous”.
- Thankfully, the variety of enemies help to keep the player engaged.
- Extremely strong enemies help change things up.
- In co-op both players get a game over if only one of the players die.
- The game can get boring, so it’s best to play it in short bursts.
- Final score: 7.5
I’m going to pick this up once it goes down in a price a bit. I love the mercenaries modes, but with such a lack of new content I can’t justify paying $40.
