Nintendo Power reveals Mutant Mudds for the Nintendo eShop (first scans)

It seems like it’s been all bad news for the Nintendo eShop lately. First Nintendo’s May update got a delay to June, and then Capcom announced that Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version, previously announced as a launch game for the service, was also receiving a delay. Today I’m happy to report some good news for the eShop from the latest issue of Nintendo Power.

Renegade Kid, comprised of the people that brought you Dementium (I and II) and Moon for the DS, have announced a sort-of-new game for the Nintendo eShop called Mutant Mudds. Don’t get me wrong – the game is comprised completely of original content – but this isn’t the first time we’ve seen the game. …

RUMOR: The NGP’s final name is “PS Vita”

Rumors are starting to circulate that the final name for Sony’s next handheld is PS Vita. This rumor comes from Games Pundit who says they heard this from a source. I’ve never heard o the site before, and it looks to be a pretty small site, but the author assures us that he isn’t doing this for hits and that he did he hear this for a source and its not made up.

Personally, I think that’s a pretty stupid name. I suppose the acronym will be “PSV” which sounds alright, but I’m definitely not a fan of the “Vita”. “Vita” is Italian for “life”, so I suppose Sony is trying to pump some life into their handheld division with

n-Space removes Heroes of Ruin post from their Facebook page

I went back to n-Space’s Facebook page after seeing the art they posted on their upcoming game Heroes of Ruin, hoping to find more information, but I was a bit surprised at what I found. I think n-Space got a little too excited over their next game and revealed it earlier than Square Enix would have liked because the post has been removed. Now when you got to n-Space’s Facebook page you are greeted to a status update they did right before the reveal.

I hope Square Enix isn’t too peeved!…

n-Space teases Hereos of Ruin for 3DS

I wouldn’t expect a collaboration between n-Space and Square Enix, but that’s exactly what’s happening with the new 3DS game Heroes of Ruin. n-Space teased the game today through their Facebook page. The company posted “Square Enix + 3DS” with the image you see above (which you can see a full version of after the break).

Besides the somewhat generic name, image, and developers involved, we didn’t get anymore information. Coming from both n-Space and Square Enix I expect a certain level of quality, so I’m excited to see more about the game. It seems like I’m required to say “we’ll see more at E3″ for just about every story now, but it’s true. A lot of companies tease …

Nintendo Power thinks Cubic Ninja is a bit of a dud

Nintendo Power gave Cubic Ninja a 4.0 in this month’s issue. Now you, the reader, might be saying, “But that game looked good! I don’t understand how that game could have gotten a 4.0.” Luckily, I have this issue of Nintendo Power so I will tell you why the reviewer felt the game deserved such a score.

The review is short but there are enough damning statements to convince me to stay away from the game. Here’s what the reviewer had to say.

  • The motion controls are horrible, leading to extreme movements to control the character.
  • The 3D effect is automatically disabled when playing with motion controls.
  • The circle pad can be used to control the player, enabling 3D, but

Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version delayed

It turns out that Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version won’t be making the eShop launch. Japanese magazine Famitsu reported on this delay and said Capcom is working on improving the quality of the game.

This is a frustrating situation for me. It was bad enough the eShop was delayed until June 6th. Delaying what may be the only worthwhile original game fro the service doesn’t bode well for its launch. Nintendo hasn’t announced any other games for the eShop launch, so it may be a relatively uneventful launch.

Expect to hear about a new release date Mega Man Legends 3: Prototype Version at E3.

Nintendo delays the 3DS “May update” to June 6th

Remember a while ago when Nintendo announced that certain features that should be avaliable at the launch of a system weren’t going to be ready until May? Well, that special date has now become June 6th. If you can’t tell I’m a little disappointed. Obviously, the date is set to coincide with the E3 conference, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we got to see 3DS trailers in 3D. That would be pretty cool, and it would be even better if we got the demos they were playing at E3, straight on our 3DS.

Nintendo didn’t announce what would be launching with the eShop. However, they did note that the internet browser would be included in the update which seemingly …
